Latest Update from Mrs Alexander

2nd Mar 2021

Dear Parents/Carers,

Following the announcement by the Stormont Executive we look forward to welcoming back all our children in Primary 1 to Primary 3 on Monday 8th March. This is a normal school day for them and the same restrictions that were in place before Christmas will apply ;

1. Children are to be dropped off between 8.45 and 9am at their designated school gate, as before.

2. Please do not stay behind or congregate at the gates after dropping off and ensure you follow social distancing measures and wear a mask, where possible.

3. As before, children will remain in class bubbles throughout the school day with staggered breaks and lunch times in designated play areas.

4. Children will have their hands sanitised/washed upon entry in school and throughout the school day.

5. School dinners will be in operation from Monday and children will remain in class bubbles throughout lunch time. No breakfast club or afterschools operating, as before Christmas.

6. Children are not to bring school bags or other belongings to school other than a coat and a disposable bag that contains break or lunch, where required.

7. Children are to be collected from their designated pick up point at their normal school finishing time.

It was further announced that P1-3 children will then move from face to face teaching on Friday 19th March and  resume remote learning from Monday 22nd March until the Easter break.

The P4-7 children will not be returning to school at this time and will continue with remote learning until otherwise announced.

We will continue to support vulnerable children and those whose parents are key workers in school for supervised learning.

We are naturally disappointed for the pupils and for staff that we are not yet in a position to welcome all children back full time and look forward to the day we are able to do just that.

The situation is under constant review and on that note I remind you that all of this guidance is subject to change.

May I take this opportunity to thank you for your continued support in helping to keep our school safe and to commend you on your efforts to support your children in their learning at this challenging time.

Take care and stay safe,

Mrs Alexander
